Next week!

Hola Padres,
Since we have been watching a video about "The Day of the Dead" celebrations, I thought it would be fitting to have the celebration in my classroom. I will be setting up an area in the classroom, so that the students who want to participate will be able to bring an item (small) to add to the "altar" in remembrance of someone who has passed away. It could also be the memory of a pet! This is a happy celebration!! The first week of November, items will be returned...make sure to put your child's name on the item. If they choose to bring a photo, it could be a photo copy of it. If it is a food item that the loved one used to like to eat, it could be a picture or container of the item...trying to keep ants at bay. If you have any questions feel free to email me at bbp@shorecrest.org or call me.
sinceramente,
Señora B-P

Esta semana en la clase de Español...

We will continue the discussion of "The Day of the Dead", which is celebrated in Mexico as well as in many other countries around the world. This is not meant to be a scary time, it is a special time to remember those who are no longer with us. The students will be making some arts and crafts which will help increase their Spanish vocabulary!

I have to apologize to the 1st grade parents for overlooking the fact that they were going to need a "cuaderno" (notebook) this year. Thanks to all of you who sent it in.

Throughout the year your child will be bringing their Spanish folder to share with you, I know you cant' wait...but the idea is that the folder should come back with everything in it...nothing should be thrown away!!
:-)
¡Hasta luego! Señora B-P

Esta semana en la clase de Español...

We are practicing our Halloween vocabulary (gato negro, fantásma, murciélago, calabaza con cara, bruja, esqueleto) while making the items to decorate the classroom. The room is bound to look a bit spooky by the time we are finished.

We are also discussing the Mexican tradition of "The Day of the Dead", in which people remember the friends and family members who have passed away.

ALSO PLEASE PARTICIPATE, WE NEED YOUR INPUT:
Hello Parents! The window is now open for our parent opinion survey. You may access the survey through the link posted here. Please help us identify areas of strength as well as opportunities for improvement by taking the survey. It should take approximately 20 minutes of your time. Also, if you live in a two-parent household, we encourage both parents to take the survey.

Thank you so much for your participation in this very important reflective process!
